Here is the honest difference. On Apple silicon Macs, the unified memory and SSD are soldered to the logic board. That makes them fast, but a failed memory or storage chip is far less repairable at the board level, and data recovery from a dead board is limited. Intel MacBook Pros, especially older ones, are generally more serviceable, with wider parts availability. Screens, keyboards, batteries, trackpads, ports and fans are repairable on both.

A MacBook Pro from 2016 to 2019 or a 2018 to 2019 MacBook Air likely has the butterfly keyboard. Its shallow keys stick, repeat letters or stop registering once crumbs get under them.
